Sorry, I sometimes attempt to use humor and it comes across as sarcasm (although I do also use sarcarsm that is meant to be sarcastic, but that was not the case here).

My point was that those who now feel energized by Palin used to dismiss those who felt equal excitement for Obama as 'cultists'. That their excitement was somehow mindless and unthinking, and clouded their judgement.

If, as you say, the right has this same excitement about Palin, then they must understand better what Obama supporters have been feeling.

All in all, good for the campaign. People are buzzing, and there may be more participation all around. I saw a survey yesterday that said that voters think Obama and McCain are better candidates than Kerry and Bush, so maybe we're heading in the right direction.
