I just saw Sarah Palin's speech. She is a natural. The barbs against Obama were well-written and sharply delivered.

Sarah Palin may be on John McCain's ticket, but she is the political daughter of Ronald Reagan. Same poise, same philosophy, same pride in small town roots & being hated by the media - she's "not going to Washington to seek their good opinion."

The BBC is quoting her line on the difference between a hockey mom and a pitt bull. They're quoting quite a bit of it, actually. They quote McCain's "right choice" line too.

The speech was such a success that even the BBC is reporting it as a success - "she seemed to be enjoying herself," they say. A "star quality speech." Their only carp is that of itself one speech cannot lay all the questions on her preparedness; she will need to give interviews. If that's their biggest complaint, then the speech was faultless.

Did you know that Quinn is also the mother of a down syndrome baby? I didn't until I heard it on Rush. Not that it matters......but she's definitely bitter.

Sally Quinn married to Ben Bradlee? Didn't know that one. That explains a lot.

These DC Elites are terrified of a McCain/Palin win. The DC cocktail circuit will never be the same.
