I did see the bit about taxes. It was the weakest part I saw because it was obviously wrong. Anyone following the election will know it's wrong. She can make the point about his raising taxes in a way that's clever, accurate within the usual political bounds, and carries a sense of knowing whereof she speaks.

This speech didn't have that. At all. That's part of what I meant by "light."

If they brought Sarah's parents up on the stage, her father would look much younger than McCain. Instead they brought up on stage the father-to-be to project him as a family member. I gues to the Palin's marriage is not that important.
