What does that have to do with anything? I own oil stocks too, because they have been a damn good investment with Bush and the neocons in power. You'd be foolish not to invest in obvious money makers based on politics. Just as oil was the thing to invest in when Bush was in power, alternatives will be the thing to invest in when Obama is elected. If McCain is elected, I'd pull my money out of alternatives because I know for sure he won't do a damn thing. His voting record doesn't lie. Do you deny this? Where you'd place your bets with your own money is the truest indicator of what you believe will happen. Why do you think Boone, Gore, and Silicon Valley VCs are investing billions in alternatives? All the smart money knows that Obama will be elected and that alternatives are going to be a very big deal, perhaps a bigger wealth creator than the Internet. Again, only the very foolish will stay out of this money maker.

When it comes to my portfolio, I invest in what makes me money. But that doesn't prevent me from believing that oil is bad for this country over the long term and that leadership in alternative energy will set this country up for long term prosperity and deny our worst enemies the money to do us mischief. Only neocons fail to see that connection.
