"This is nothing more than the McCain campaign building an artificial facade for Palin, and it's fair game."

Precisely. They are working hard on building up this mythology around her. And the push back when questioned is pretty intense.

>Selling an unneeded luxury plane seems like a good idea to me. As does deciding not to build the bridge to nowhere.

You just proved my point.

No, your point was on whether or not it was sold on ebay and whether there was a lie about ebay. Thats nitpicking.

First off, the bridge to nowhere -- Palin was FOR the bridge to nowhere until it because apparent the Congress wasn't giving her the necessary money for the whole thing. She then took the "pork" that Congress was willing to give her towards the bridge and used it for other things. She didn't give it back.

She was against it when she was governor when it counted. As for keeping the money, governors generally don't give money back to the federal govt. They figure their own state residents pay federal gas taxes too, and figure out a good way to use the money.

And for the plane, it wasn't unnecessary. For one thing, it makes sense to me that a state that's what, half the size of the rest of the U.S. and separated from the rest of the country by another large country would have a private plane.

The state of AK has a bunch of planes. This was a luxury jet for the Governors use. She didn't need it, making it unnecessary.

Also, it seems that it was used half the time to ship prisoners to and from Alaska to Arizona, because Alaska doesn't have enough space for its prisoners.

They have other ways to ship prisoners - have they stopped transporting prisoners because of no luxury jet?

This is nothing more than the McCain campaign building an artificial facade for Palin, and it's fair game.

Its fair game and I invite you all to waste your time on this and other piddly inconsequential disputes.

In fact, I'm delighted to see no one is doing much politically but arguing about Palin, a very popular lady, now. Will that last all the way to the election? If she's able to best Biden (given his history of gaffes a real possibility), maybe so.

The more you all talk about Palin, the more you make Obama look piddly and the more you build up a woman who might be the future of the Republican party. Keep it up.
