Allen, the big difference between Palin's oil tax and the Democrats' is that Palin's goes straight into the pockets of her voters, whereas the Democrats' ends up in the belly of the government beast.

I think it's about as permanent as her tenure as governor. When she's gone, I expect a major attempt to roll it back. She signed what may be the biggest oil tax increase in US history.
