Katelew;

I believe liberals are overstating the size and the danger of so-called 'creationists'

The rest of the world is laughing at us because of dismissal of science. It's not just that Palin believes in creationism, its that she doesn't believe in stem cell research and doesn't believe that GW is caused at least partially by man. That is a complete dismissal of science. She would move America in the exact opposite direction to compete on the worlds stage.

NewScientist - an English magazine - has a few quotes that they find interesting every week. Last week one of those quotes was...."Healthy debate is so important and valuable in our schools. I am a proponent of teaching both." This is of course quoting Palin and her thoughts on creationism.

>>I watched Keith O. and Rachel M. make fun of Palin last night for her supposed religious stand on things, and I cringed at the image of conservative church-going Democrats turning away in disgust. Both K and R were trying to be so clever but the net effect was one of belittling all people of religious faith.<<

Kate -

I was having dinner with a friend this evening, who said that he thought Obama should start going after the "religionists," as he called them.

I told him I thought it was a terrible idea that would backfire.

You are absolutely right, in my opinion, when you say that any time Democrats denigrate Palin's religious views, we come off as attacking all religious people.

I'm guilty of doing it myself.
