Thats' an intersting observation... some republicans actually thing it's "pompous" to be smart.

Better to be a good ole boy and throw some "zingers" out there and make people chuckle. Even if its degrading... like Palin's remark about community organizers... the "gefaw" from the crowd was really weird... especially seeing that what Obama did after college is essentially what Regan and then Bush Sr. (1000 points of light) talked about as America's great strength.. and Palin was doing what they thought was wrong with America... working for the government!! Weird... even Regan would be turning over in his grave.

Gore rolled his eyes and looked disgusted when Bush was answering. It came off as extremely pompous. Being smart does not give license to disrespect others.
