Lane, the problem is that you're injecting causality into my statement. You're rebutting me with a list of causes of misbehavior, which I of course agree with. The problem is that
I never said the lack of religious training CAUSES children to become out of control at school.

If you have my original post, please reread it.

Vulgar language and behavior, rude to teachers and disruptive in class, maybe even drug use in restrooms, openly sexual or provocative, to name the most troubling.

You see much less of that kind of behavior coming out of children being raised in church-going families, at least in my experience with raising four children in public schools.

Lane, this was my post. Take the comment "you see much less of that kind of behavior coming out of children being raised in church-going families". I said that was in my experience but I'm also very confident that statement would be supported statistically. It seems almost intuitive.

Disturbed and distressed children come from homes rife with neglect, abuse, drug use, alcoholism, and possibly poor nutrition, which was on that list. In my experience, I've seen much less of this type of behavior coming from the parents in church-going families. And I think statistics would support this, too.

Do you disagree with this statement? Do you think I said it's the lack of religious training that CAUSES parents to neglect and abuse their children?

I don't think the lack of religious training CAUSES anything except being ignorant of spiritual matters, and such a state of ignorance is relatively benign, IMO.
