I asked, because it seems to me that the community you live in may not be representative of a lot of this country. I have personally known the children of very religious parents who were psychologically, physically, and sexually abused. I have also known children of religious parents who were wonderful people. Most of my family is Mormon, on both sides. There are plenty of great people among them, and with the big families my grandparents came from, I have a lot of extended relatives who are Mormon. Most of them are wonderful and prosperous, and are loving parents to their children. But not all. We also have mental illness, chronic depression, suicide, alcoholism, spousal and child abuse in our family. I'm glad things are so idyllic among the Latter Day Saints where you live. Life is not necessarily so rosy everywhere. - Allen
