the Soviets, who had already gleaned much of it from other sources.

They got it from Robert Oppenheimer, among others, who was a member of the Communist party, but was taken off the roles by their leaders when he got involved with the Manhattan project. It's in the FBI records.

I am reading "Blacklisted by History, The untold story of Joe McCarthy," by Stanton Evens. Excellent book. He starts out by revealing how much of the original records that should be in the Library of Congress have been destroyed. He found file after file where someone had just ripped out the pages.

McCarthy "Names named," turns out to include 10 people who the Verona files showed were spies. And other records available indicate he had about 30 or 40 Soviet Spies/Communists right in his accusations.

He was the first case of the left "Borking" someone. Same thing they did to Whittaker Chambers. And are trying to do now to Sara Palin.

I missed that yesterday. Can we finally put to rest the myth of the Rosenberg's innocence?
