I wouldn't go to a slaughterhouse. I would stop eating meat.

Seen a few TV specials, driven through Stockton, CA - pretty nasty business.

Field dressing deer has been a near religious experience for me, on the one hand you have the biology thing and on the other you see organs as large as your own - not like cleaning fish - it makes an impression. When I cook some deer sausage or steaks I remember the animal and feel lucky and privileged to have made the effort to take the animal myself - in addition to the fact it's organic with no chemicals to my knowledge and tasty.

I fully understand others aversion to hunting, but try my best to explain my position and only ask for tolerance. When I see bad hunters I feel no remorse turning them in to authorities - ran into poachers before taking Does in Buck only areas - really pisses me off - they become the poster child for anti-hunters.
