This is why Buddhism is so cool. Not only do they not get hung up on the "My deity's writings are superior to yours" and all that, they have the cojones to make their deity's sayings so obscure that not even they claim to understand them completely after years of intense meditation.

Have to admire the misdirection in that. It's the only religion I ever came across that didn't read like an elementary school primer, but because it's so dense, I remain an ordinary atheist who would still like to know what they are on about.

If you can see and make an exception for Jews, why not for agnostics.

It doesn't matter what I see or don't see and I have no authority to make exceptions. I can't decide for God that agnostics should be excepted. All I can do is tell you what the interpretation of a scripture is. I don't make the rules.

So you're arguing with the wrong person.

I mentioned Jews because they don't look to Christ or the NT for spiritual doctrine, and I didn't want anyone Jewish on the thread to think I was trying to speak for them or push Christ on them. However, someone last night mentioned that Orthodox Jews also believe if you're not with God, you're against God, thus disallowing the option of agnosticism....but Reform Jews believe something else.

The concept of no such thing as agnosticism is subtle and difficult. I tried to lay out the logical flow that always leads back to atheism and it is also difficult to comprehend. But I think I've done all I can to explain it.

Agnostics recognize that there's no way to know.

Wouldn't it be more correct to say Agnostics BELIEVE there's no way to know? The way you said it implies something very different.
