captainfreedom, But, I thought quadbit was used in mobiles. How on earth are you going to have a mobile what can only write 10 times to the flash? It isn´t used for that. It´s designed for digital content delivery, or as they say "bringing on-demand audio books, GPS maps, movies and music to global consumers". Quad bit only accounts for a tiny percentage of Spansion´s revenues at this point, and I don´t see that changing much in the near future. To me, it´s more of a "see what we can do" thing, an image booster in a segment where it´s hard to innovate. If you look at the CC transcripts, you get a sense how important it is from a financial perspective. They have other solutions for mobiles.
