How much is gas going to cost in ten years? I don't think the answer will be nice.

I'm not saying that this curve won't go way up again, it might, but it will have to go up quite a lot to make gasoline as big of expense in 2018 as it was for the average consumer in the early eighties.

My subjective evaluation is that people now feel that gasoline is a bigger burden than it ever has been before, but that's far from reality.

"Future of Li" is of course a guess. It seems optimistic to me, but I'm not even close to being an expert in the area, perhaps I'm wrong. Maybe you see it as pessimistic. If you don't like it what's your guess?

Well I guess I have your guess "five times the capacity". That seems to be within the ballpark of the chart at that link.
