most successful entrepreneurs are people that come from highly educated backgrounds that took a different path. Its a completely different deal when Gates or Dell drops out of Harvard to build a company. First of all these people were ACCEPTED into top schools to begin with- I can't think of any of the really successful college dropouts who were not working at a top university originally whether it was Jobs at Reed college or Gates at Harvard, what have you- they just took a different path.

These "folksy" people the right puts forth like Palin were never smart enough to take that high road to begin with. Even BUSH who is a limited leader in all respects, is better than Palin because Bush's family at least exposed him to the upper echelons of the world that a president needs to negotiate with.

Palin's low brow world was completely vetted on national TV with that "bush doctrine" question. A skilled leader of any kind knows how to handle a question that you don't understand with ease. Just say you don't know, but do it eloquently. With Palin you are dealing with a high school debater. Even Palin's scripted convention speech wasn't any good. Its just that the bar is so low with her constituency.

Every action has an equal and opposite reaction.

Matt Barber told the WorldNetDaily.com. that Hallam was representative of "left-wing elitists throughout the media, academia and the larger Democratic Party."

"What's happening in that classroom represents a microcosm for what's happening with the angry left around the country," he said. "

Palin essay question draws GOP fire
By Joey Bunch
The Denver Post

A part-time English teacher at Metropolitan State College is under fire from conservatives after he allegedly told students to write essays critiquing Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

The adjunct instructor, Andrew Hallam, has not been available for comment since one of his students went to a Denver TV station with an allegation that he bullied and harrassed conservative students.

Hallam is teaching two classes this semester, his first at Metro State, according to the school.

Today, Republican legislators in Colorado called for "immediate corrective action" against Hallam.

"Good grief, this is supposed to be an English class," Republican state Sen. Mike Kopp of Littleton stated on the GOP legislative website Coloradosenate.com.

"Once again, it looks like an academic at a publicly supported college in our state is using his classroom as a soapbox for his personal politics. And he is trampling on students' free speech in the process -- actually telling them what opinions they are allowed to express."

According to the conservative news website WorldNetDaily.com., Hallam assigned students to write about Palin, noting "her body language, facial expressions, the way she dressed, what she said and who she pointed out or talked about in her speech. How do these elements form a 'fairy tale' image about Sarah Palin as a person and as a politician that the Republican Party may wish its members and the American public to believe?"

The fairy tale "Sleeping Beauty" is included in the class syllabus.

One of Hallam's students, Jana Barber, took her concerns about the assignment to KCNC4, which broadcast a story Wednesday night.

Barber spoke with the TV station and on the Mike Rosen radio show this morning, before filing a complaint against Hallam with the school later in the day, said Cathy Lucas, a spokeswoman for Metro State.

Lucas said Hallam made the assignment last Thursday. After consideration, he broadened it at the next class on Tuesday to allow students to write about Barack Obama, Joe Biden and John McCain, she said.

Barber has said other students had felt as she did, but so far none of those students have come forward, Lucas said. The university plans to interview students in the class before making a determination about the accusations.

Jana Barber is the sister of Matt Barber, director of cultural affairs for the conservative Liberty Counsel legal organization. Until June, Matt Barber held a similar title with Concerned Women for America, another conservative Christian organization.

Matt Barber told the WorldNetDaily.com. that Hallam was representative of "left-wing elitists throughout the media, academia and the larger Democratic Party."

First off, Palin has an education. And she has been pretty successful in her efforts so far - has more accomplishments to show for her efforts than Obama anyway.

Second, conservative radio (except for the weird guy in San Francisco) is not hate radio. I listen to Bill Bennett, Hugh Hewitt, Medved, and Prager when I get the chance anyway - none of those folks are hateful. If you want hate, try Air America.
