When our "legal young residents" go to college, we want to assure that they are able to vote. What we don't welcome is voter fraud that makes it possible for a student to vote twice in a General Election-----in Virginia and also in his or her home state, state of residency. The fail-safe test is to require registration in the precinct of the home address------i.e. If you live in Roanoke, Virginia and go to school in Northern Virginia. Your place of residence is Roanoke, Virginia. That is your voting place. If you go to school in Northern Virginia, you can do an absentee ballot if you are not in your home precinct at the time of voting. You do not have to travel back to Roanoke to vote. Now let's cut to the chase------------ If you are a student going to school in Virginia and your place of residence is Chicago, Illinois or Washington, D.C. e.g., you should not be allowed to vote in Virginia-------however you may vote absentee in Chicago or in D.C. You are a registered voter in Chicago or D.C. not in Virginia. The same would apply if you are a resident of California and are an out-of-state student. If these laws did not exist-----------a student could vote twice------in Chicago or D.C. and in Virginia. Now to illegals----------- Without a process that checks for illegals who attend our public institutions or for foreign students here on special progrms, who are not citizens, this election becomes wide open to voter fraud. Integrity in the system--------- The burden is on Governor Tim Kaine and his Democrat appointees to assure that there is no voter fraud in Virginia. Governor Kaine should assure that the voter laws of our Commonwealth of Virginia are honored and not changed by the Obama campaign to permit opportunity for Voter Fraud or changed by the McCain and Palin campaign. Likewise, Governor Kaine should not allow any last minute changes in the Commonwealth of Virginia's voter laws by the Virginia General Assembly in anykind of a special session. mjinVirginia
