VA officials seem to have caved to Obama campaign demands, even though it will be almost impossible to verify the legality of many student votes. Apparently the state required each student to submit a form for approval prior to election day, but Obama insists that action discourages student voters. It's a ridiculous argument--everyone must be required to submit proof of eligibility to vote, otherwise the election is a sham. Isn't it interesting that it's always the Democrats trying to weaken authenticity of election results.

Serious question: As a general rule, what safeguards do states have to prevent multiple registrations in other states?

When you apply for a driver's license, they punch out your old state license and give it back to you. And woe to you if the Social Security Administration made a typo on your SS number (like they did on mine, now fixed, but uncomfortable).

Why can't the same thing be done for voter registrations?

Because it inhibits voters who really shouldn't be voting anyway.

Go figure.
