tejek: "I am not about to trash Alaska.....its an incredible state. However, the state is giving out roughly $1.5 billion of oil revenue to its citizens this year. Why can't some of that money be used to improve the state's infrastructure?

koan: "tejek I have the greatest admiration for your thinking and values!! Thought I should make that clear-lol.

And I agree. I do not think we need to take any federal money except for special programs.

Although I would point out other states could have established a Permanent fund for their children and now they would be in better shape.

Imagine if California, Oaklahoma, Louisiana or Texas had put 25% of their oil money in a permanent fund.

I would also point out that most of the smart things Alaksa has ever done (like the permanent fund) has been done by the few liberals up here-lol. And we had to fight the conservatives every step of the way-lol.
