You should cut back on the Kool-Aid.

But, let's examine your facts. Like the effectiveness of DDT in controlling malaria. I've never claimed differently. However, the situation in Sri Lanka was not quite like you are trying to present it. For one, DDT was not banned in the 1960s. They stopped spraying because the government assumed, incorrectly as it turned out, that they had eradicated malaria. When the number of cases started to climb, they started spraying again.

However, they made the classic mistake of using DDT for agricultural use. When often leads to DDT resistant mosquitoes.
