I guess the Block of Mtg Backed stuff or Portfolio at WaMu valued at about 176 billion was worth about 146 billion to JPM .. cuz from what I gather .. they own em for that price this am. That's a lot more than the 5 to 6 cents that LEH ?? netted on theirs .. they had to finance 16 cents and create another piece of Paper. lol I wonder what they named that piece of toxic paper. I don't see what this bailout may possibly do in order to to increase availability of cheap credit going forward. Lenders will remain uncomfortable lending during an economic decline, and borrowers will be reluctant to borrow. The only thing we will have achieved is saving a great number of bankers who well deserved to lose their money. If I can see this, so can many other people. This brings out a trading related question - Will the markets experience a sustained rally of some sort, OR will they commence selling the news - maybe as early as this coming week?
