Tonight will be about brinksmanship. The Republicans presented a ridiculous plan a-la Paulson, and the Democrats want to funnel taxpayer money to the banks a-la Dodd and Frank.

Might actually be worth watching the debates just for the entertainment value. It's not about who will be better for America, or even about who will do less damage. It's going to be about which party is the most pathetic.

It's all it would take. And of course on January 21st he can renege on the promise, declare martial law and name himself "Presidente-for-life". None of which seems that farfetched anymore.

I have no idea why the Dems are sticking with it. They have a lemming-like death wish, I guess.....
