i've mentioned before that on this thread that you have to be careful to distinguish between mk4 and mk7. as far as i know, the human tests were done with mk4. the amount of mk4 in the test was 15mg in 3 equally divided doses morning noon and night. so 15mg is the only known effective dose for mk4.

in my opinion life extension is trying to hide how much mk4 they have in their product.

mk4 blood levels drop off rapidly after ingestion.

on the other hand, mk7 blood levels increase steadily with a single daily dose of 90mcg.

mk4 is synthetic and perhaps that's why it was tested rather than mk7 which is naturally occurring. perhaps the drug companies would find it easier to patent a synthetic nutrient.

of the opinions i have read on the net, most consider the mk7 as the more effective form of k2.

EDIT: EC knows a lot more on the various forms of k2 than i do. if you unbanned him, he could contribute a lot here..

LB,

I am going to do a bit of research on the subject. I take 100 just 100 mcg, and I haven't come across until now anyone recommending 10x to 50x the amount.

I am curious if 100 mcg is too little to make any difference and if 1000 to 5000 may cause some problems...

Joe

Ok, a little off topic but rabbits have to eat their own poop to get enough vitamin k. You should be glad to be human.
