"If groups enforce their prejustices on the public square the it is no different than a gang of thugs intimidating non members."

It is hard for me to imagine that Tenchu is arguing on the side of descrimination. Because that is what it is. To argue that "this is different because it involves religious beliefs" is specious. All it takes is some splinter group that has as a tenet that the races shouldn't mix, either personally or via commerce, and suddenly you are there. Now, Tenchu would probably argue that there are other service providers. But, splinter group members tend to cluster instead of being evenly spread throughout the country.

So descrimination becomes legal.
