Hummmm?

All 2.5 million messages in the SI database are archived and fully searchable.

Yet, a search yields:

Search Notes

Messages are sorted in order of date, most recent first.

The last 90 days of messages are searchable.

I sure hope the ads are implemented as well as the rest of the system. I have confidence that it will be.

Charter advertising members who pay a $10,000 membership fee before Nov. 30 will be able to run banner ads on the site at a 5 CPM for all of 1998. 1,000,000 impressions are included with the initial fee. About Silicon Investor

Oh no! You think SI may have ever been slow in the past at times just wait until it's loaded up with Java banner ad's! Maybe it's time for Brad to fire up a fully scaleable SUNW sever! Hint hint! <gg>
Hey when is SI going public?

Scrapps, I'm kind of surprised Jill & Co. held off this long. I expected banner ads long ago. Can you imagine what SI pays in bandwidth charges? Then to let all the old-timers get grandfathered in sans fee, was dang generous. The WSJIE just set a dead-line, and if you hadn't paid up, you got booted. That was the end of 1996. So, I wonder what kind of clientel SI will attract.

My guesses for charter SI advertisers:

e-Schwab
E-Trade
DLJ Direct
Micron Electronics
Gateway2000
3Com (Sportster modems)

Let's see, who else wants our money......-G-

Hi Scrapps:
Re article on SI 100 million page views per month. 70,000 messages posted per week, 100,000 individual investors.
Wow, On one hand I'll have to be more careful of my content, punctuation, spelling and grammar. And of criticizing the govt, how many of those 100,000 "individual investors" are informants? On the other hand, with 70,000 messages posted each week, who will notice mine?
Why is Jan the most important month for tech stocks? Do they go up or down? Is that a hint as to what we should be doing in December??????????
:o)
Did you notice that we are in the group of the "wealthier set" of comsumer demographics. I'm going right out and buy that Ferrari I thought I couldnt afford.
on second thought didnt I read a warning at the front that we are not to take SI words as anything but entertainment?
Happy trading.
What is it with 3com? The market goes up it goes down!
And how come Microsoft gets to have bad news, moderately good earnings and goes up 5, while 3 com barely budges on good news and tanks on bad.
Can we invoke some fairness act or something?
