>> Banks were in miser mode after the House's rejection of the rescue package. The key bank-to-bank lending rate, the London Interbank Offered Rate, or LIBOR, soared to 4.05 percent from 3.88 percent for 3-month dollar loans, and to 6.88 percent for overnight dollar loans _ the highest level since tracking began in 2001.

That's especially worrisome because normally, LIBOR is just slightly above the Federal Reserve's target fed funds rates, an interbank lending rate. Now, it is more than 4 percentage points above the target rate of 2 percent. That has troubling implications for other lending rates tied to LIBOR, including homeowners' adjustable rate mortgages.

Financial contracts tied to Libor amount to more than $300 trillion _ or $45,000 for every person in the world.

I was thinking about buying some physical on this downdraft.

Tulving is virtually sold out. They have Krugs for $45 over spot and Maples for $39 over spot.

That's it. They are cleaned out. HTF can paper gold stay down here?

<<Yea, I heard that too. Of course I've already heard everything that moron is ever going to stay, as he has never had an original thought. The guy is a complete loser and lives in a fantasy land somewhere.>. How can you say that about GWB favorite talkin head.:)
Bush loves to watch Kudlow and is a WELCOMED guest at the WH.

What i said about Bush and Kudlow, sad to say is NOT a smear of Bush by me, he really LOVES THAT KUDLOW.
Bush and Kudlow would look great behind a cage in the zoo--the two Chimps exhibit.
My GAWD what does this say about the people that got Bush elected NOT once, but TWICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kurt Vonnegut's last book was called "Man Without a Country" as he did not want to be identified with a country that at one point GAVE BUSH a 85% approval rating on his invasion of Iraq.
This was revealed by his son, Mark.
He stated with the Iraq invasion and the support Bush got changed his father utterly, he, at that point denounced the entire human race.
In the book "Man Without a Country" one can have verified to what depth he really damned the human race.
But i walk around in this world confrontating that 85 out every person i pass by APPROVED of Bush invasion of Iraq.

And yes, i get a bit paranoid--- do i feel like Kevin McCarthy amongst the POD PEOPLE--you bet.
This a post that demonstrates why i get banned so much.Max
