McCain means CHAOS. Most Republicans in Congress don't care for him...he's much too divisive...

promote policies that seem out-of-touch - like Bush.

Aside from Iraq, what policies are you referring to?

Reading newspapers isn't the same as not reading.

In fact, he admitted that he relied on other people to read for him. Incurious, to say the least - or just disinterested?

Busy with staffers.

I know he did read books. I recall an article a few years back where he told that Russian Jewish guy, Sharansky, how much he enjoyed his book.

Note that encasing yourself in a cocoon is not the same as being dumb, although they often go hand in hand. Any leader who does not read to at least get an idea of the pulse of the nation is going to promote policies that seem out-of-touch - like Bush.

The big policy leftwingers dont like was invading Iraq and 70% of the public supported it at the time. Thats the reason most Democrats voted for the war resolution - they knew it had wide public support.

You cannot have a good understanding of constitutional law without a background in important SC rulings. Period.

Obama teaches constitutional law but is an idiot who thinks SC justices s/b social workers. With some folks the things they "know" that are wrong are the biggest problem.

Defending the Constitution is difficult when you don't have an understanding of the history behind the various rulings. I can see why Bush has such a hard time defending the Constitution, and how he comes to his positions that are anti-Constitutional - torture, suspension of habeus corpus, spying, and the Patriot act.

"torture" - Exactly 3 high ranking AQ members were water boarded. Thats the extent of the torture he approved.

Habeas corpus hasn't been suspended. Foreign enemies have never had it before.

Spying on foreign enemies is Constitutional.

The patriot act was passed by Congress and hasn't been found unconstitutional.

I dont know liberals believe so many things that arent true. Must be the biased press. Or maybe you just want to - you were immune to evidence about subprime mortgages and FNM and FRE. You heard with your own ears Republican Congressmen calling for more oversight of those GSE's and you heard Democrats defending them, denying FNN and FRE had ANY financial problems, and attacking the regulators. Still you cling to a lie that says what you heard didn't happen.

His lack of understanding that his PRIMARY duty is not keeping us safe, but keeping freedom safe shows his complete lack of insight into the Constitution and the intent of the founding fathers.

The founding fathers never intended for foreign enemies to have habeas corpus and for spying on them to be banned.

I would hardly call Biden a 'serial plagarist' for one incident of improper citation in school

"school" could be junior high. It was law school. He plagiarized 5 of 15 pages of a law review article. He blamed it on improper citation and was allowed to take the course again. He also plagiarized a speech by a Btitish politician, lying about the facts of his family background to match the speech. He also continues to claim his wifes death in a traffic accident was caused by a drunk driver. Investigators said alcohol played no role in the crash.

What does a Biden oath mean? Nothing.

More exaggerations by the Republicans to avoid talking about Palin's lack of qualifications

While considering Palins alleged lack of qualifications, we should consider that her qualifications are as good on many things as Obama's, Bidens, Kerry's, and Edwards. Explore her qualifications but compare them to the folks on the other side, too. Thats what you cant do.

Re. your last paragraph, continue to try to attack McCain's character. People respect him and they should.

Even Democrats respect McCain.

Hillary Clinton:

"I have a lifetime of experience that I will bring to the White House. I know Senator McCain has a lifetime of experience that he will bring to the White House. And Senator Obama has a speech he gave in 2002."

Biden:

"I would be honored to run with or against John McCain, because I think the country would be better off."

Democrats have been saying good things about McCain for years but now you're compelled by circumstances to attack his character. It isn't McCains character that looks bad when you all do that.
