The economy is fine. McCain's statement that it is "fundamentally strong" is correct.

But the Dems did allow this mortgage problem to happen, and the result is a cash flow problem that is likely to cause a severe recession, even with the bailout.

Recessions happen. This one clearly was brought on by the incompetent actions of liberals who wanted to put people who couldn't afford it into mortgages. I have yet to see any evidence that any Republicans were involved in this problem, and by all accounts (other than those of the guilty Democrats who caused the problem), the Republicans attempted on several occasions to correct the problem but were outvoted.

Since '92 the Dems want to make it about the economy every year, and it serves only to CAUSE economic problems where none exist.

The economy continues to be fundamentally strong.
