So sorry to hear of Mikey. I know how much it hurts as we just shortly ago laid our last pet down. She was our last because I'm not making that decision anymore. No matter how you tell yourself it's for the best it hurts like hell and we just no longer want to feel that pain.

Oh PatiBob, I'm so sorry. My heart goes out to you.

The loss of a pet is often the loss of a best friend.

You, your family, and Mikey are in my prayers.

I think the months leading up to the end is tougher than the actual event of losing the dog.

Maybe I"m odd.....but I think I'd want another friend as soon as my comfort level would allow.

Being alone (without dog) to me is far more difficult than having one pass.

My best to you in your search for the best solution to your sadness.

TH

I am so very sorry to hear about Mikey! I had a 17 year old Sheltie who was my heart dog... Ginny... she was a great dog....

now we have Maggie... who is 12 and understands everything we say.... and Mopsy who has tagged along for the ride :) She still acts like a puppy at 9 and is so very loveable.
