So sorry to hear of Mikey. I know how much it hurts as we just shortly ago laid our last pet down. She was our last because I'm not making that decision anymore. No matter how you tell yourself it's for the best it hurts like hell and we just no longer want to feel that pain.

I think the months leading up to the end is tougher than the actual event of losing the dog. Maybe I"m odd.....but I think I'd want another friend as soon as my comfort level would allow. Being alone (without dog) to me is far more difficult than having one pass. My best to you in your search for the best solution to your sadness. TH
