Mark,

My total portfolio is:

17% Far East and Latin America
18% Cash or equivalents
35% Canadian Equities
10% Dow Industrials (beating the Dow)
20% Semi Equipments / other high tech (about 12 stocks)
... 16% of that is in UTEK.

I'm in the process of migrating my net worth out of mutual funds and into my own control. I've erred on the side of diversity rather than placing an all or nothing bet on stocks that I think will do extraordinarily well. My largest individual holding is about 9% of my net worth in the company that I worked for.

Ian.

Why would anyone have 1/5 of their funds in one stock. There are a variety of stocks that offer diversification. I would think that 5-10% in any one stock is risky enough--The large funds are a lot more diversified, Often down in the 2-3% limitation for a single stock.
