Definitely McCain had a strong performance.

McCain touched on Freddie and Frannie---good for him.

Obama was singing the songs of fear again which he has been sowing for two years about universal health care----putting fear in people.

One important point that McCain made of the evening was that we will tackle all of the problems simultaneously----this is the generalist viewpoint that is needed.

McCain definitely has experience that goes beyond any that Obama can muster. That came through in the debate.

I found it interesting that neither candidate talked about the 9/11 airplane crash bombing of the World Trade Center, the crash in Penns. or the bombing of the Pentagon.

It's as though that major reason that brought us into a major war against terrorism never occurred.

It's almost like this is untouchable as a subject.

That is why we went to Iraq regardless of what Obama claims.

The impact of 9/11 changed the nation----even the financial community was impacted by that --------800 employees of Morgan Stanley killed in the attack. Backup files were secure in another site----so customers records were kept.

For a year tourist did not come to Washington, musicians lost jobs, restaurants struggling to survive, stores in the shopping malls had no customers-----life was lived in fear as we had the sniper attacks on people buying gas.

Somehow we haven't learned a lesson from that as--- we continue to allow an influx of people into the country who could be the next terrorist such as one of the masterminds that live in Falls Church, Va. -------a 10 minute drive to the White House.

Just another issue not touched on-------an issue that is of great importance in this area-----illlegal immigration.

The second major point on which McCain scored was ---"to speak softly and carry a big stick"-----as he described Obama's shouting loudly about bombing Pakistan.

I don't think either one changed many minds. It has to be the most boring debate on record. In fact it wasn't a debate at all, it was a campaign speech.
