Repubs are not about authoritarian oppression of rights. That's more likely to happen with a Democrat like Comrade Obama. Palin probably wants the decision returned for states to decide, but IMO it would only lead to an about face to the Supreme Court. Women can stop worrying - in this modern civilized age - it's impossible for the US to declare abortion totally illegal. There would be a female uprising of such magnitude that it would make 1776 look like a slight disagreement. P.S. Restrictions on the right however, is another matter. The Bush Adm policy on preventing another terrorist attack within the border of the USA have worked remarkably well for over 7 years. Why argue with success? During wartime, measures must be enforced to save lives---and that's exactly what has happened. Obama would be naive and take steps backwards to the days prior to 9/11, when foolhardy Democrats had completely decimated our national security capability. Would you really have confidence in government run healthcare? Did the government manage their mortgage programs with competence? Bureaucrats manage to render second rate almost everything they touch. Who would want second rate healthcare? Ultimately, we'd pay extra for quality health services and be required of course to continue paying taxes to support the inferior national healthcare programs.
