Reading the reports on Agweb, about 25% are having good to excellent harvests. The rest are crying.

<<Soybean production is projected to be 2.98 billion bushels, higher than last month's forecast of 2.93 billion bushels.>>

They dropped the bu/acre by one bushel but "found" another 2 million acres that they had missed July, August and September. Reminds me of one July when reports said we were low on corn stocks and some guy opened a closet and found 300 millions of tons more corn in storage. Big closet.

You have any color in your trees up there? Very little down here. Last year was dry and the leaves turned brown and dropped. Wet this year but still influenced by last year.

Took Bubba for a walk this evening. Snatched an ear of corn from a field that usually does 180. Went 3 rows in so as to get a good average. Felt several ears and grabbed an average one. Nice husks and an 8" cob. Only 4" of corn on it. Not gonna make 180 this year. If I was a stock feeder I'd be buying grain like crazy now.
