The latest excitement for the RW seems to be a belief that a court has ordered Obama to produce his birth certificate.

I noticed that, too. That's perhaps the most bizarre bit of political "thinking" I have ever seen. The notion that his mother is not really his mother, that his grandparents are not his grandparents, is beyond preposterous. Do they think his mom stole him from some foreign maternity ward? Or what?

Both Snopes and FactCheck have said that the birth certificate is valid, by the way.

We should have an escalating silly/stupid level as more and more irrelevant dreck is dragged out by those trying to counter McCain's obvious dump in the polls.

Here is factcheck's work on Obama's birth certificate. Let the people who are yapping about this grasp at any straws they want. They continue to make themselves look like jackasses who refuse to look at reality. Business as usual, certainly since the beginning of the Bush admin. Even, I would suggest, since the beginning of the Reagan administration. Fortunately, they are not a majority of this country. Unfortunately, that mindset has caused enormous damage to this country, politically and financially, something which we are all dearly paying for. And will continue to pay for for the foreseeable future.

Of course it is. How very silly. But they don't have anything else to get excited about with McCain going down the toilet, so let them fixate on this. Anything that keeps them off the streets...
