write long term puts the IV is at very high levels I am evaluating this idea v. buying stock at market prices - the problem is the cap on profits and the low premium if selling deep in the money puts - calls are too expensive to buy IMHO

>>> The Chinese love coal it seems <<< China needs coal to sustain its development it is said that they bring online a coal power station every 2 weeks this is a lot of coal and electricity - now with anticipated cold winters more coal will be needed to power more electrical generation - therefore I may add to my AUD holdings but first in few hours when FX markets open I will buy back my EUR which was sold long ago at 1.58

i trade and ship coal from china to philippines

i buy fob tianjin and i deliver cif philippines

coal yards in china are apparently full

waiting to see what happens next

coal price has not budged for export out of china, but shipping cost has collapsed, now mere 18% of the peak cost in november of 2007

iow, times are very good, until someone wishes to break term contract

meantime, coal stocks got smashed, which is also good, because can use saved shipping cost to buy more coal stocks, a win win

The Chinese love coal it seems.

Have been following a relatively unknown Canadian explorer, Entree Gold.

I bought it because its holdings totally encompass the gigantic Oyu Tolgoi copper/gold development currently underway in Mongolia by a JV between Rio Tinto and Ivanhoe.

Entree also has a JV with Ivanhoe on the richest portion of the Oyu Tolgoi strike.

In addition, within the last several months, Entree has encountered substantial coal on their holdings in the region.

We are talking about all of this mineralization being less than 50 miles from the Chinese border.

Like everybody else, Entree has been dumped in the last few days, and their shares closed Friday at $0.73.

Unless the end of the world is actually at hand, I would encourage folks to take a look at this well funded/no debt explorer.
