Many policies will pay you less if you don't rebuild. Ask a lot of questions before you decide.

Also spoke with friends of ours that have places in Bay View and Taylor Lake and one only had wind coverage because they are 21 feet above sea level and never flooded before. They were told it was not wind damage but flood damage so not covered. If you have never flooded before and winds were estimated to be 110 mph why is it not wind damage? Seems the insurance company is trying to get out of paying their claim.

That is exactly what they did to us and many others. If it was wind, then they didn't cover it, if it was water then we weren't covered...it is all a scam while they go to spas at over $600 a night to party. Whatever caused the damage, it was too bad, but that wasn't in the policy even though we have to carry four policies, it isn't covered..

We have to carry flood insurance and we're on the 15th floor, they said it was because if something ever happened on the bottom, we might get damage...of course that wasn't the case when we had water...they have you coming and going.

Our adjuster is a real nice fellow but I'm not so sure about his supervisor. We had 2 cranes come and lift several trees off the house and garage. The largest tree, an 80 year old oak, took out the chimmney and tore back the roof which soaked most of the upstairs and several rooms downstairs.

Since we took pictures of the solarium before the crane took off the tree and after, the supervisor is saying that the crane company should share in the cost of replacing the solarium since it wasn't totally destroyed until after part of it fell on to and through the glassed in top.

My husband and I were shocked. I asked the adjuster, are you planning on billing God as well? After all, this was an act of God and according to your logic, He is responsible as well.

My husband, God love him, had the wherewithall to keep his eyes from rolling too far back in his head and the adjuster had the good graces to blush. The adjuster didn't come out and say it in so many words, he did in a round about way express his dismay at the turn this has taken with regards to the solarium.
