Thanks Lee. That was another option but I'm thinking a cell in the battery has failed. <Check for corrosion or loose connection for your battery/starter problem. >

My brother likes the corrosion/connection failure mode option, of which he has had some sneaky ones. Tomorrow morning I'll get into the shed and take another look.

Putting the charger on the battery gets almost no current flowing through it, even after hours of charging [I took a peek tonight to see if it was making progress before closing the door on the problem - no progress].

Replacing the battery and the currency seem like good ideas to get the juices flowing again. My Qi cybercurrency is still in prototype but it seems I'll have to ramp it up and get it into production before the existing fiats go phut.
