I like the US. I've visited many times. I've got a lot of good friends there, in various states, many but not all people I 'met' online.
I invest substantially in the US, in various different shares and options, and so have direct financial interests in what happens there.

And while the US is far the richest and most powerful company on the planet, what happens there especially in political terms directly affects everyone else in the world. Especially us in the UK since we're so often military as well as political, economic and cultural allies, and our leadership usually follows US dictates.

Your minimal interest in other countries and their politics may be explained because they have (in general) far less influence over the US, except as they are directly concerning the US.
(I'm not saying that IS the reason. But it might be A reason.)

Don't you think that's Americans business? Do you not feel strange even expressing an opinion on this?
What, because I'm not American?
So the only people who can express opinions on (say) birds must themselves have wings and feathers? Only film-makers can comment on films? Only worshippers may express opinions on any religion, and they're restricted to their own religion? Might you even suggest that no man is entitled to comment on female looks, behaviour or feelings, because we're not women ourselves?
What a bizarre attitude.
No, I feel just fine commenting on US politics, thanks.
