>>>Your belief, though honestly held, is flawed.
Democrats are sensitive to people with OTHER PEOPLE'S money and freedoms.<<<
I only wish my "belief" were universally held ... there'd be more happiness, more goodness, certainly more sharin'-not-takin' goin' on. But what's any of this got to do with "other people's money?"
And I'm not sure at all what you mean by "other people's ... freedom." Isn't the very expression as such a bit strange? I always thought freedom as something personally cherished, held and given, ideally shared? I never really knew other people have my "freedom!" If they do, are they Democrats, Republicans or hidden idealists?
Freedom is often misconstrued. Is not the best way to enslave someone to make that someone think they are free? Lots of that goin' on but it has little to do with Democrats. Was it Democrats who privatized prisons? Republicans maybe? Yup, 'twas them. And who bought the stock to such a ridiculous public trading entity? Look this up and get back to me!
Meanwhile, America, land of the free, imprisons an astonishingly large number of people per capita--compared to what other nations or nation! You'll be shocked to learn--google it and let me know!
>>>Republicans want success for everyone who is willing to work for it, and the policies they prefer will ultimately benefit more people than those of the Democrats, regardless of motivation.<<<
I see today's Republicans, not Lincoln's, primarily as a tremendous and overbearing corporate influence wanting nothing to do with regulation from government and profiteering from wars either ours or in Third World nations. This severely coupled with a base of middle-poor folk linked fundamentally in religion replete with all of inherent hot-button issues like prayer in schools, abortion, stem cell research and, now, Sarah Palin, etc.
Next, the GOP triggers NRA issues which have completely different rural and inner city connotations having little to do with the truth of reality. And then, of course, there's the staining of what taxes are really supposed to do with respect to government: bail-outs of oil, finance, pharmaceutical, real estate and automobile sectors? Or is it really a bail-out of single women with children? Which is worse and where, really, does the reality fit?.
Wrap the above into patriotism and the need to reelect a so-called 'war president' and you've got today's Republican: McCain-Palin now the standard banner bearers!
My thoughts? No thanks! I'm voting Democrat all the way and you should also!!!
Simply put, Republicans will give ya' an oil change; Democrats a tune-up; and Libertarians will forever cry foul over the lack of free air for the tires. But, truly, what our poor engin' needs is a complete engine overhaul. Republicans won't do this as they're bogged down making the court system worse than the oil companies. But Democrats are more likely since they're at least thinking 'bout tunin' up the engine, which helps.
Personally, however, I'm with the Libertarians as I do like the idea of free air for our tires ... free water too. But this is way past now since Republicans have dominated the modern US presidency 28 years to 12 and I believe that if they could make toilet paper thinner for profit they would, having little to do with need.
>>>Thus, I will support Republicans entirely throughout this election, and in the future, UNTIL DEMOCRATS LIKE HUBERT HUMPHREY, SCOOP JACKSON, AND MIKE MANSFIELD reenter the scene.<<<
I hope you're supporting the unions Humphrey, Jackson and Mansfield support of which Republicans detest!!! I leave you with a note on Mansfield:
guardian.co.uk
No doubt the Mansfields when Bush wrongly invaded Iraq were the Democrats; along with one lone voice from Rhode Island on the GOP side, ironically his name too was Lincoln (Chafee).
In conclusion, I think Obama at least represents a new hope, a Mansfield-like voice, not only for our own society but he could well make sense on the important world stage, helping to repair, actually mend the image from the Bush-Cheney America. The reality is we need a true America, one capable of being not a, but the leading nation on earth for freedom, justice and truth; for people, not profits! |
