Talk about Galloway reminded of this line from MP Kaufmann.....the most apt and eloquent description of GW Bush that I have read these past ten years:

"Bush, himself the most intellectually backward American president of my political lifetime, is surrounded by advisors whose bellicosity is exceeded only by their political, military and diplomatic illiteracy.’

But he does have an excellent line in vituperation.

And if a Democrat is getting the Hitchens vote, then they must have a fairly broad electoral appeal.

Well, I am confused. I always thought of Hitchens as basically a liberal. I have listened to many of his interviews and never took away the idea he was a conservative or stupid. Just the opposite, he seemed very sharp to me.

He certainly nailed Henry Kissenger, IMO.

And his ideas seemed quite sophisticated. I think he writes for Vanity Fair.

I agree about his mistake regarding Iraq, but I always just chalked that up to his being quite ecletic??

Oh well, live and learn I always say.

Am I the only one here who felt Hitchens is a liberal?
