Lane3; I get cranky when people put words in my mouth Sorry if I made you cranky. John has no problem explaining his own position. He is one of the best writers here and I, contrary to what you say, had no problem understanding what he said. I do disagree with his reasoning on this issue. Kristol said that McCain needs to "junk the whole thing and start over". Okay - that makes sense. Here's more; The McCain campaign, once merely problematic, is now close to being out-and-out dysfunctional. Its combination of strategic incoherence and operational incompetence has become toxic. If the race continues over the next three weeks to be a conventional one, McCain is doomed. If anyone thinks that switching from Ayers to Wright somehow accomplishes to change this, then I just respectfully disagree. There is nothing wrong with disagreement. steve
