Hi Little Joe,

please explain to me why you think there were no budget surpluses during the Clinton administration.

I voted for Bush Sr over Clinton in 1992 and then Dole over Clinton in 1996, but even I must admit that Clinton and the Congress at the time (mostly dominated by Republicans) got us to surpluses through a combination of increased taxes, sound economic decisions, and at one point Clinton even shut down the government until the Congress sent him a balanced budget.

So I have to disagree with your statement. In this case, the historical facts are clear. I am interested in why you think differently, though.

When you provide the significant increases in tax revenue over the past years, record setting in 2006, I do not have 2007 numbers, the tremendous growth in government and spending and lack of fiscal restraint has caused our problem. But no one once to talk about how much tax revenues have increased...spending increased just that much faster, and the country is worse off...voters do not like looking at facts.
