It is the "principled opposition" that makes this country and its politics great. We all wish we can go back to the days of Sen. John Towers and the likes. Unfortunately, we have come to the age where partisanship above what is good for this country is the rule of the day.

While I continue to have high regards for Sen. McCain for his "principled opposition" such as the one manifested by his grabbing the mic and clarifying to the woman who Obama was. I think he would have polled better today if he stood his ground against the Rovian folks who took over his campaign.

I continue to believe that Obama will use his charm and coolness to bring the warring parties together. And I continue to hope that he will be successful. That is if we, the voters do not sit back after the elections and instead continue to remain involved with Washington in a bipartisan way.
