Maybe we there is still hope. Obama has everything on his side. Crashing stock and housing markets an economy circling the drain an extraordinarily unpopular sitting president to run against a telegenic hip personality unlimited funds an almost total control over the national media which cooperates in every way- for instance in trashing Sarah Palin while giving Biden a free ride a well run and well oiled campaign cooperative pollsters McCain is uncool un hip totally untelegenic has limited funds a hostile media an inept campaign But somehow McCain keeps hanging around If the Bradley effect is 5%, McCain probably wins If it's 10%, he wins in a landslide. The Bradley effect might be negligible but it also could be huge. It has nothing to do with racism. Anybody that stands up to Obama will be trashed a la Joe the Plumber. So keeping a low profile is the only sensible path for McCain supporters. The key question really is whether this is going to be anything close to a free election-inside the voting booths that is. If McCain wins, it will be because he has some sincerity and the American public was able to appreciate that-McCain clearly cares about this country-the complete opposite of Obama obviously has his own agenda.
