I think Powell will endorse Obama. He is taking the spot for one hour, one week before the election for a specific reason and that spot is probably the most important political spot every four years ie. Brokaw knows it is for him to make the endorsement. So it is a plum for Brokaw as well. Meet the press is highly viewed.

If he was going to endorse MCCain he would have done it by now.

Powell gains several things if he endorses Obama:

1) He repairs his reputation for his UN deception

2) He shows minorities his kin and the country he came to their rescue at just the critical moment.

3) Obama will use him for diplomatic missions which he would enjoy I think

4) He is still mad about being used by the neo cons he had no love for. There was an out and out war between the state and defense departments. He can nail them with this.

well the rumor mill on politico is saying he will endorse Obama, so go figure? You'd think their sources would be people "in the know".

Bush really screwed Powell thats for sure. I heard James Baker on the radio the other day. Powell represents that same Jim Baker era. Republicans were honorable then.
