Powell gets the marching order from the Republican Party leaders to endorse McCain, and yes, Meet the Press has a large audience. Remember than McCain got his marching order 6 weeks ago to pick Sarah Palin.

I think Powell will endorse Obama. He is taking the spot for one hour, one week before the election for a specific reason and that spot is probably the most important political spot every four years ie. Brokaw knows it is for him to make the endorsement. So it is a plum for Brokaw as well. Meet the press is highly viewed.

I guess I don't have the respect for Powell that a lot of people do. I don't think he has a high level of integrity as evidenced by what he said in front of the UN right before the Iraq war and his vouching for Ted Stevens' integrity last week in court. So whom he endorses doesn't mean a lot to me. I still believe he will endorse McCain if he endorses anyone.....but if he endorses Obama, it can't hurt.
