Forex and the "up-front license fee" ...

Ron,

<< Do we know for sure whether the "up-front license fee" is pegged to the EURO or the U.S. dollar? >>

We don't. Since it is a payable to Qualcomm, I would assume it is pegged to Qualcomm's accounting currency (USD), and that the $2.5b the Qualcomm spokeswoman stated is the amount that will hit Qualcomm's books -- BUT given the (lack of) detail we are privy to I'm not sure it is safe to assume anything, othr than the fact that the €-->$ forex conversion the press made on the date of Nokia's announcement is most likely not the precise amount they'll be paid.
