After the last month, most macroeconomic issues have been locked in by the Paulson plan and the huge resources behind it. Obama and a Democratic Congress can tweak personal tax levels and do a few other tings that impact the economy but to a large extent, they will inherit a system on autopilot. Hopefully Obama will convince Paulson to stick around for 6-12 months as a transition leader; he can appoint his desired SecTreas as the deputy then move him up later.

I suppose they could throw in an additional stimulus package of some sort but it would be dwarfed by the TARP package.

If McCain pulls this out at the last minute, I will go back to being resigned to more of the same, knowing that McCain will not be able to accomplish hardly anything given the inevitable deadlock with Congress. Especially if Hillary gets the Senate Majority leadership which I think she more than deserves.
