For the forums I frequent, I do not remember a single person ever thinking any of what went with subprime, liar loans, no doc loans, negative amoritization, etc. was a sound or rational idea. There was no alarm to sound; everybody connected the dots.

I didn't meet everybody of course. I suppose the camp that would be fooled would be the same camp who thought real estate only goes up; they aren't building more land; etc., who all conveniently ignored Japan, where they actually do build land <g>
