Powell shares Obama's poor judgment - both opposed the surge. by Matt Lewis, townhall.com October 20, 2008 Powell Opposed Surge Tom Brokaw neglected to mention yesterday that Colin Powell opposed the surge (you know, the one that McCain pushed for -- and the one that has miraculously calmed things down in Iraq). So let me get this straight: 1. Colin Powell helped justify the Iraq invasion by convincing everyone that there were, in fact, weapons of mass destruction. 2. Colin Powell opposed the surge. So Colin Powell appears to have been wrong about two very important foreign policy issues. ... And now he supports Obama... Okay, some say he was "duped" into the WMD thing? Is he being duped now???
